Data processing
For the FoodFactory-4-UsEdition 2024 on Upscale or downscale a food supply chain to a national or regional level, we process:
- the personal data that you provide in the application form: first and last names, e-mail adresses, gender, name of university, student status and the student ID of the team members.
- the personal data you provide in the application form: first and last names and e-mail adress of the mentor
- videos of the participants taken during the competition.
Data handling
The ISEKI-Food Association - as organiser of the competition - is the data controller and is responsible for processing the personal data provided in the application form.
Data use and duration
All personal data is collected and processed for the purpose of managing the competition, grading the participants, awarding the prizes and contacting and providing the participants with relevant information. By entering your personal data, participants consent to the publication of the names of the participating teams and the winning team and its members on the FoodFactory-4-Us Competition homepage and on social media channels belonging to ISEKI-Food Association and FooD-STA. Furthermore, the Final Virtual Conference will be recorded and be made publicly available at the ISEKI-Food Association YouTube Channel with all teams.
Personal data provided when registering on the FoodFactory-4-Us Competition | ISEKI-Food Association website or by sending an email to foodfactory4us@iseki-food.net will be retained by the ISEKI Food-Association for five (5) years, starting from the day on which the personal data were submitted. You thereby authorize the processing of your personal data in conformity with the REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27th April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).
Videos taken during the competition and personal data on social media related to the competition will be retained for as long as the social media channels indicate in their privacy statement.
Parts of videos may be used for dissemination of future competitions and in scholarly works in the competition.
By providing the personal data requested, participants consent to their processing. Participants can withdraw their consent at any time by contacting the organisers of the FoodFactory-4-Us International Student Competition at foodfactory4us@iseki-food.net.
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
For Team Applications: Overall, all members of the Advisory Board are instructed to treat the information provided through the applications with the required confidentiality. Please indicate in the Application Form whether your project might include specific IP which your team would like to see treated with special care. On the Application Form, you can select:
- NO, if your project does not include special IP which needs additional measures for ensuring confidentiality.
- YES, if your project includes special IP which needs additional measures for ensuring confidentiality.
By selecting "NO", you confirm that no information on specific IP requiring protection is provided with your application.
By selecting "YES", the organisers of this competition will develop a specific plan to protect you and your project.
For Team Projects: The members of the Advisory Board will be asked to sign a specific NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) document to give additional proof of confidentiality. If for any reason the provided template is not extensive enough for your case, please provide a suitable NDA with your application for review and signature by the assessors. Please bear in mind that any NDA still must allow for proper assessment of your project in the frame of this competition.
