The 7th June was chosen by FAO/WHO as the World Food Safety Day. This celebration was an opportunity to give visibility and dissemination to Food Science and Technology from the safety perspective through different experts, institutions, companies or projects. In turn, 2021 is the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables.
On this occasion, FEDALCYTA and ISEKI-Food Association organised this online seminar in which the potential risks present in fruits and vegetables, heat treatment and disinfection of these foods as well as future training needs for the processed vegetable sector were discussed. All this was communicated by experts and researchers from the University of Zaragoza, Autonomous University of Barcelona, industry professionals such as PATURPAT and participants of the Erasmus+ EQVEGAN project.
