Country Information:

The Slovak Republic (Slovakia) is a sovereign state in Central Europe, formed on 1 January 1993, after the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia. The country joined the European Union in 2004 and the Eurozone in January 2009.

The largest city and the capital is Bratislava, with a population over 400 thousand, situated in southwestern Slovakia on both banks of the Danube River, bordering Austria and Hungary. The second largest city is Košice, located in the eastern part of Slovakia.

Journal is abstracted in SCOPUS, Science Citation Index Expanded (SciSearch®), Biotechnology and Bioengineering Abstracts, and Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA) among others.
