This year, the international day of cooperation is comemorated on the 6th July. The Escola Superior de Biotecnologia, from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, together with the international ISEKI_Food Association, took the initiative to organize an event to show how important is international cooperation and the role of food science and technology to progress and make possible the feeding of the world.  Many aspects are extremely important for food production and distribution, such as quantity towards increased number of population, sustainability, quality, security, consumers’ health, ethics, amoung many others.

This is expected to be a first of a series of seminars on the topic of Feeding the World.  This first event is directed to the public in general and any stakeholder related with the human food field (students, industry, researchers, universities…). The objective is to show specific local products and their importance and potential on human nutrition and for feeding the world. The planet has many resources that can and should be well shared.

The event has the participation of 6 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico, Thailand and South Africa) and 9 products will be shortly presented together with their importance and potentials.
